Oktoberfests are currently sweeping the nation. Who doesn’t love the idea of drinking steins of beer, sampling German cuisines such as brätwurst, and celebrating the German culture together? So we were excited when we took centre stage introducing Axe Throwing to Hertfordshire Oktoberfest this year.

The venue was amazing – a giant tent situated on Harpenden Common, in which the hosts did a great job of kitting it out with themed elements such as benches, a long bar, and a stage for musicians to perform. Consequently, this made for an electric atmosphere through the entire event.

We were excited to introduce Axe Throwing to the attendees, all of which looked amazing dressed in traditional German outfits. The word soon spread of our presence as queues of people formed to try their hand in throwing axes on our bespoke trailer.

Also present was our game of Hammerschlagen, which we were excited to introduce at this event especially with it being a traditional German game played since the 1920s. This also proved popular, with many couples and friends competing against each other to see who can get the nail to the bottom of the wood first.

Ultimately, we had a blast of a time, where we met some great people, soaked in the atmosphere and even sampled some German delicacies ourselves, which were very tasty indeed.
